For what it's worth, consumer reports just ripped the CUE system. The only thing they hate more than the Ford Touch is the CUE.

I enjoyed watching the video to see things from a different perspective. Even though I don't agree completely with the results, it was something worth watching.

I purchased my 2012 e92 335i after owning two Cadillac CTS's and can honestly say I would never go back to Cadillac for multiple reasons.

I purchased a brand new 2008 CTS when it came out. Had the car for a total of 9 months and it was in the shop for a total of 3 months. The car was a lemon and everything electrical that could go wrong, went wrong. It was a fairly good looking, cheaper luxury car that looked great but did not feel solid and the craftsmanship was very very poor.

After GM bought the 2008 CTS back from me, they put me in a new 2009 CTS. Which was just as bad. Transmission problems, poor interior with creaks and rattles along with other issues.

I test drove Audi, Mercedes, Cadillac and since I work part time for BMW, I have driven every make/model over the last four years.

When it came down to it, my heart was sold on BMW for a few reasons. I liked the look and feel of the e92 most of all. I liked the performance and overall feel. But that's just my own opinion.

When it comes down to it, each company has its positives and negatives and will both have a large customer base. I just feel the negatives that BMW may offer such as high stickers prices, etc outweigh the positives from other companies in my eyes.

I prefer the look and feel of the BMW, plus the N55 can be tuned for some much bigger power than anything the others offer. That said a lot of the Cadillac slamming is incorrect. As far as reliability JD Powers shows the CTS as being very reliable, more than the 5 series it is compared to. Also resale value of the CTS and V Models is actually higher than 5 series and M5. Just look it up. That said Cadillacs just lack the feel of a German Sports Sedan, be it the 335i or the S4, but they are getting closer.

3. Mercedes command centre sucks.

4. Cadillac... where are the buttons!? Touch surfaces suck (not to be confused with touch screens).

5. The reviewer doesn't like the 3 series driving experience because its too sophisticated. He wants less sophistication and more raw, scary driving with a hard bumpy suspension and heavy steering. Yeah I'll stick with my 335i thanks.

That's exactly what I was thinking. These are sport sedans that you will drive everyday, not track. That's why their is an M3. I do agree Cadillac has come up from where it used to stand. But when you have a low power BMW performaning the way it does compared to other cars with more power and more agrees ice suspension just to keep up with BMW's line of cars. That says a lot of BMW.

BMW really needs to step up their game.

however, can't you get an s4 for around 50k? i don't believe for a second the cadillac is the best sport sedan you can buy for 50k.

BTW, Liberman got this wrong: He says BMWs are from Stuttgart and Mercedes from Munich. Basic facts wrong. Big fail.

Maybe in Canada, but they are a dime a dozen here. And the new 3 series is certifiably ugly. In this comparo, it is easily the ugliest one. BMW ruined the 3 series trying to sell more cars by softening it up to appeal to the masses. It used to be a leader in this segment. I LOVED the 3 series.

Well, I went through this discussion 2 weeks ago when the thread was 328 vs ATS & I was jumped in immediately . I won't repeat everything that I said, but I will stand by the fact that if you have not driven the new ATS then you shouldn't even comment. Looks are subjective, but the handling is spot on, its tight and all around a very good car. I still don't think it is better then the 3 series , but I'd take it before the Mercedes. To me the only thing that let the car down is the transmission. I drove all the the versions of the ATS for an extended period of time. The last thread someone said "nobody would EVER cross shop a BMW & a Caddy" Well I'm here to tell you I own multiple 3 series(E46,e92,E92 M3 & I'm currently waiting on the 4 to come out,,,,I like coupes) and I have a CTS sitting in my garage and I'm seriously considering an ATS , but I never buy a 1st year car ,,& like I said,,I like coupes........BUt screw what the a$$ in the video says...drive what you want

Sorry you didn't have a good experience with the CTS , but mine has been exactly opposite. It has never been in the shop other than for one simple recall & I'm seriously considering the ATS with that suspension feel. I can live with the transmission. I don't plan on this car being a racecar for me and hopefully improvements are to come.... I truly believe if the ATS had a different manufacturers badge on it, some people would instantly have a better opinion of it. Hope you have better luck with the 335 ,,,awesome car

If watch this till the end and then select from the options the top-left YouTube, you get a head-to-head comparison of F30 335i with the S4 from Motor Trend. And guess what?... it's the same guy! He's Carlos Lago and he picks the S4 for the win over the 335i in a head-to-head.

He says the same thing as the guy in the ATS comparison... lack of driving and road feel, numbness, poorer handling as the reason the S4 beat the 335i.

Thanks for posting this video.

Interesting thing is that how he say the F30 being perfect (including the steering) in the first video and criticizes the steering being bad when compared to the S4. Also, the all seasons tires does impact the stats (by quite a lot, especially in braking distance) when comparing to the "Benchmark" video.

This 3 series takes the L for the years to come until the next one. They should compare the e90 with these cares.

How does the 328i beat the ATS but not the 335i?

The more I watch this guy, the more his opinion becomes just what it is, an opinion that I probably give less credibility to.

I HATE to admit and say this because I sold BMW's for over 7 years, (and have had two e90's a 2006 330i Sport Pack and currently a 2010 328i Sport package both with manual transmissions) but the ATS does have better steering and Handling that the current F series of BMW sedans. I would still take the the 3 series over it (even a 328i manual M sport) because overall its a better car but this is one generation of car where BMW is NOT leading the way in the handling and steering feel department to be honest. I have to be unbiased here and hate to admit all of that but in the end its the truth. If I could have my e90 328i with the new turbo 4 as the engine to me that would be the Ultimate Driving Machine. Thats a fantasy and wont happen though. Be happy with the 3 you choose because overall IMO its a better car but truthfully when it comes to sterring feel and handling it falls short to the ATS. That is the only area where the ATS trumps this generation 3 series too so that should tell you all you need to know.

I am not one for brand affinities, so I could care less about driving a Cadillac, even though it brings with it a connotation of greasy-fingered, unrefined 'Merican (which, in my book, makes it "cool" to own one, actually). One must be a man above the brand; if you have to stick to a brand for your identity, then you've failed not only as an individual but also as a human being.

I have not driven the car, so I can't comment on its "handling" - I'm sure, based on what I've read, it's great. Potentially better at the margin than the BMW. That's cool with me. I don't mind the exterior, though it's probably last on my list of alternatives in this segment, though the segment is as good as it has ever been, so we're still all cool. I don't even mind the interior apart from the instrument binnacle which is not only the ugliest in its segment but amongst the ugliest that I have ever seen, period (and in my comparable universe I include a good deal of Soviet and East German cars as well).

I could not live with myself driving, day to day, and having to look at those hideous instruments - it would just ruin the entire experience for me, because I am very particular about seemingly innocuous details. Had the Caddy come with the beautiful instruments found in the BMW, I would have serioulsy considered it as a viable alternative. Luckily, I would bet that only a tiny segment of the population - maybe something like six standard deviations from the mean - feels the same way I do, so... I don't know what my point really is here. I think it probably has to do with the fact that you are free to deploy your capital as you see fit, and because cars are expensive, we tend to suffer from some serious cognitive dissonance to justify our purchases.

Fear not, though, BMW fanboy and BMW hater, the sun also rises...
