DVD Audio Volume

Please forgive the repost. I tried this in the General F10 forum but only found a couple of others with the same problem so I thought I'd bring it here...

When I watch a DVD video in the car, I have to pump up the volume to hear it.

Of course, when I go back to any other source it's REALLY LOUD! Even a warning ding makes my ears bleed.

Does anyone know how to fix this?
