Out of State Early Lease Turn in ?

I leased a new 328i in 2014 from Georgia, my residence in 2014.

I moved to California in 2015 and brought my car to CA.

Last week, I leased a new 340i from a local dealer in SoCAL.
I had 2 payments remaining on my 2014 328i - which the dealer said is eligible for the "pull ahead" program by BMW.

So, last week - I turned in my 328i and drove off in my 340i. During lease negotiations or finance paperwork -- there was no mention of me paying for any wear and tear or any report of lease end inspection.

However, something is kind of bothering me:

There was no lease end inspection of my '14 328i that I'm aware of.
They did take my keys and said they will look it over -and I'm assuming they did, but I was not given any documents or paperwork stating IF there were any lease end damages for wear and tear.

No one said anything about my lease turn in at all.

I simply dropped it off and drove off in my new car.

Damage on the car: the passenger side door trim has a chunk missing from someone taking a hammer to break into my car (back in 2015) approx 2 inch chunk of plastic broken off.

Tires: to my amateur eyes, tires looked fine.

Scratches: 2 small scratches on the car , less than 2-3 inch

So, am I clear or can they stick me with a surprise bill next month for "wear and tear "?

usually BMW financial asks you to get an inspection by third party (auto-vin, think is the name on east cost) and within 90 days of lease return. usually they allow some small damage up to $1500 and check tires and body etc, I never had been charged for damage on of mine and I had bad rear bumper damage they didn't say a peep. the last lease I did like you, I just handed into the dealer and advised BMW financial that I gave to the dealer and didn't have time for the inspection, they had no problem in about a week I recede letter that my balance was zero. they didn't charge me anything. good luck with yours I am sure you won't have any problem if you do they will let you know within a quick amount of time so how much time passed is the key. did your dealer in CA give you a sheet saying they accepted your car (with or without damage?) and did they note any damage on any papers? they must of gave you something a VIN Validation Milage Odometer close out paper (forgot the name of the document) of acceptance to prove you left them a car?

Yes - I did have to sign a VIN/Odo form, that transfers the car to the dealer

But that form was for DMV (I think) and said nothing regarding lease end/wear and tear

Other than above , There was no paperwork of any kind relating to my old car - nothing about damage or anything.

I was expecting some paperwork regarding the lease end inspection but I got nothing.

I called BMWFS 2 days after I turned in the Lease and they confirmed that the car shows up as returned to that dealer and I'm no longer liable for that car

But, based on what you said , I should be getting a letter from bmw In a few days , so let's see !

I called BMWFS - they told me I owe $0 and there were no damages

Would've been nice to know this when I turned the car in!

I was a little unsure when I turned my last one in, too. I think because a lease is with FS and not the dealership, the dealership can't give anyone the final bill. If your dealership had told you a number (0 or whatever it would turn out to be), they would just be guessing.

usually if you get into another BMW, they waive the fees and "damages"
