I have a laser temp meter so I can watch it heat up stop and cool down.. its always about a min..

As the others have said, it should stay on until you deactivate it. It will cycle higher and lower though, I've noticed.

Does your light on the button go out after your minute is up? (You might have to bend your head slightly to see it, but it's not as hard to see as most complain about )

It should stay on. Heat is less intense after a few minutes, but it should not automatically shut off. Get it fixed.

As others suggested, the heating function should be on unless shut off.

Again, . Didn't your CA show you all the features? The button is on the left side of the steering column.

If heated steering wheel turns off after a minute or two, your battery is on the way out

My understanding is on the newer F30's it runs for 15 minutes and then auto shuts off again.

I've noticed that the heat is far less intense after 5-10 minutes.

Most likely because your hands get used to the heat...

Hani,
You need to start your own thread in the appropriate forum subsection vs. tacking it on the this heated steering wheel thread.
Sounds like you need to talk to the outfit that sold you the X3. Good luck!

Just got my 440xi a couple of days ago. Previously had a 435, and 335 before that. The heated steering wheel on this car gets hot initally, and after a few minutes I feel it is not that hot. My previous 435 got much hotter and stayed that way. Whats funny thought my previous 435 the seats didnt get really that hot but with this 440 they do. Guess you just can't win
