M-Perf Upgrades on Lease?

I'm considering an MPPK and MPE make-over for my 2013 F30.

Can anyone comment on the pros/cons and do's/don'ts of adding M-Perf parts on a leased vehicle?

Do the parts need to be purchased from the leasing dealership, or is it OK to buy from reputable online sources (e.g., getbmwparts.com)?

Thanks!!

There's nothing wrong with putting them on. They're both BMW oem. Both of those items are cheaper from getbmwparts than purchasing from your dealer. If I were you, I'd buy both and have your dealer install the PPK given its complexity. Anyone can install the MPE as it's a simple axle-back.

Keep your stock exhaust so you can reinstall it when your lease ends. I doubt you'll get some sort of refund for having the PPK. That can't be uninstalled and therefore that's 100% out of pocket.

If you purchased them when you bought the car, they should have been able to residualize it into the price of the car (so you wouldn't pay full price).

Ultimately you can do whatever you want to the car, whether it's BMW or otherwise. Just keep in mind when you return the car, they're going to expect the car back basically the way they got it. They'll have to do the MPPK themselves, and you could do the exhaust yourself and then remove and sell it afterwards. But the PPK will be completely out of your pocket. If you did a JB4 or something similar, at least you could yank it off yourself and resell it after the lease is up.

the mppk i don't think you could take off and resell before giving back the car, but at least the MPE you can take off and get about 50% what you paid for it.

and for people saying you could residualize m-perm upgrades on the car- you fully can't, maybe theyl break down the payment for 3 years in addition to your lease tho.

Yea they can calculate it right into the lease, I got both before I picked my car up. They gave me the ppk as I was walking out to go to another dealer to look at one and the mpe I paid off bc I didn't want it shooting my payment up, but they wanted to roll it into my lease

They residualize it into the term of your lease, and not into the entire car.

Yea thats what I meant....I didn't go that route though...just paid off the exhaust and they ate the cost of the ppk for me.

anyone try installing it after and negotiating with the dealer to have it residualized back into the lease?

I'd highly consider the PPK but don't want to essentially buy it for BMW. I'm only a couple months into the lease.
