If I lived in Europe, I would happily give you my BMW Connected drive for your low vehicle prices and your low interest rates.
Try paying our prices (around $100K for a basic 335i and our dollar was at parity not too long ago) and our interest rates (6.5% is around the best you'll get here at the moment). Don't wish for something that you may regret ![]()

Yes we do have higher average salaries than our European counterparts but not to justify paying two to three times the price for the same car. |

And salaries here are way lower than US. The average is near 1000-1200€ per month.

That's the cost of subsidising and bailing out the local auto manufacturing industry, and also paying a luxury car tax.

I used to live in Egypt. Funny how you guys consider a 335i at 100k expensive.
Try a 335i at 200k. Wages are shit too, people considered to have a good job make 5k/year. |

Guys, try living in Malaysia where a 335i cost u $155k. Only rich ppl can afford 335i. Normal average joe can only afford 320i-328i.

The parking assist was 100% staged. Handles magically appeared on the car. I would venture to guess they were all actors.

Cars are relatively inexpensive in the US, but other things wipe you out: health care, tuition, property taxes.
Also, too little investment in public infrastructure and services. Roads are crappy, unbelievable numbers of people in jail, and the US is pretty much at the bottom or close to it in all categories related to the well-being of the public among developed countries (education, health care, upward mobility, etc.) But as long as we have cheaper cars, gas, flat screen TVs, and bulk food people are happy (the important stuff requires too much thinking and is too depressing for 99% of the population, so ignorance and denial are bliss.) Sorry, but this "you in the US are so lucky to pay less for cars" gets to me because it's so ignorant of the bigger picture of the reality of life in the US. We may have cheaper cars, but we pay dearly in other areas. There are good reasons for the lack of immigration to the US from other developed countries over the last 20-30 years. |
