Auto Bild Review 435i vs. S5 vs. E400
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com BMW 435i rwd M-Sport The new 3er Copy, is all about driving pleasure! Beautiful Interior, iDrive is nice! Engine: 3L I6 Turbo 306PS (300hp) 0-100kmh 5.1 seconds Has the best chance running further in a straight line. 1:05:63 around the track Most fun on the track, yet slowest around... €50K Audi S5 awd Audi is just like BMW, wider and longer. Engine: Supercharged 3L VR6 333PS (325hp) 0-100kmh 5.0 seconds Supercharger and AWD really pay off for a short sprint. 1:04:11 around the track Weighing 200kg more than the new 4er, yet faster on the track. €59k MB E400 rwd S-Coupé BMW & Audi Windows are cute... MB's go all out. (Most modern looking E class face lift) Engine: 3L V6 Bi-Turbo 333PS (325hp) 0-100kmh 5.2 seconds The Merc is beautifully comfortable. 1:05:55 around the track Handles like a mad man through the comers. €56K ** Personally I can't help but feel the 435i would have fared better if it was an x-drive mode that was tested. ** Last edited by v1k1ng01; 11-14-2013 at 04:52 PM.. |

The Audi that they use is a S5 Coupé 3.0 TFSI quattro S, and it starts at 59k Euro base price on Audi.de. |

Which makes it confusing, because you have the C-Class coupe as well, so I understand what you're saying. The E-Class coupe's wheelbase is much closer inline with the F32's than the older W204 C-Class sedan.

that's really disappointing !! 335i used to beat the previous generation of the S5 in a drag race !!
I guess the real problem is that bmw are pushing the M5/M6 to the highest performance possible "while maintaining their DNA" and setting them the upper limit of the brand. in that case everything else has to sit in a lower rank according to the series and the price. in other words even if bmw has the choice to manufacture an M4 which is more powerful than the specs already posted they won't , because that will affect the market of the M6. and even if they had the choice to push the 435i further they won't because that will affect the market of the M4!! its all like a chain. At 1st i was really happy to hear about releasing 440i. i thought this could be a good move forward. But now I can't believe that the upper limit of the 2014 4 series has the same power as the upper limit of the 2007 3 series ! and what will they do in a couple of years ? offer us a performance package for 60+ bhp ?? that's ridicules !

I've always imagined 6er = E Coupe. But then, the E Coupe does look a lot smaller than the F32... Does the E weight significantly more than the C/4er? |

I am surprised the Audi was faster around the track.

Actually... as much as I prefer Bez to Audi, the S5 posted the best numbers and was the winner. The 4er had the best interior quality feel and media center. The Benz was somewhere in the middle not the best at anything. I would also like to point out that there is a 9k Euro difference in starting price between the 435i m-sport and the S5.

Based on what's been done with previous models, I'm expecting the 2015 4er to get a brand new engine. That should take care of the Benz and Audi in this test. And I'm planning on getting the PPK for my 435 next year when it's released.

I think the driver wasnt able to bring the 435i's potential to the track, because it is 200kg lighter so I think there is no wa that it is slower on the track than the s5. Just my opinion.
