I have about 6,000 miles and as I drove away from a golf course (car had been sitting for more than 5 hours) the car only blew warm air. Unlike your description, it was blowing, just not cold. Couldn't be a frozen coil because it didn't have time to freeze (happened as soon as I drove away).

I drove straight to the BMW dealership (a Saturday afternoon), left the car and received a loaner.

Given the bad service you received, I want to give a shout out to BMW of North Scottsdale. Didn't raise an eyebrow at my coming in without an appointment on a weekend and said "of course we will take it and give you a loaner".

Turned out to be a compressor failure. SA said that they ordered and received the only compressor part in the US. If that is true, either it is a part that almost never fails or it is a part that fails so often that they can't keep it in stock.

Anyway...got my car back and it is all fixed. Really missed my HUD while using the loaner.
