I chose diesel as I would generally do 15,000 miles a year nearly all on motorways, having the similar power in a petrol (540i) would cost a lot more fuel to run and for me it's all about running costs.
Maybe that's the wrong way to look at it but as the car is not being sold that's what matters.
600+ miles to a full tank is pretty impressive as it £150 a year tax and £314 insurance.
I appreciate it will depreciate but no more or less than any other mainstream BMW
