The ink will (at a micro level) sit in any imperfections and hide them until that is its gone.

Was thinking the same thing. Or they used black pigmented wax...one good wash and it's gone. Good luck if you go back, they may claim you did it since it didn't look that way when it was delivered. If they don't help out or admit what could have happened, you know to stay away from their service dept.
