Everything is relative.
$1,000 isn't huge... when buying a car, or negotiating for a house.
When buying a $1,000 laptop, you bet your ass that doubling the price is considered huge. The kind of person that wouldn't give a second thought to paying double for anything is the kind of person that Darwin should have taken out years ago.
