You don't want to put any kind of conditioner on it, that will make it sticky and go shinier even quicker.

Many of the sports wheels seemed to suffer with the coating/dye degrading rapidly, as I've mentioned on a number of threads before, even cars with 20-30k on the wheel looked like it'd done 150k.

I'm not going to go into detail again, but my 15 plate 435 sport had the steering wheel replaced under warranty at 8k becuase of this issue. My wifes 14 plate 530GT is starting to go patchy at 50k miles, and my 14 plate 640 I had a re-trim by Royal Steering wheels as that too was looking shabby at 26k miles when I bought it approved used.

If you bought the car used, chances are the dealer/trader has tried to tart it up a bit prior to sale, and that is what you are now seeing coming off when you're trying to clean it.
