I wouldn't even sweat about liability, clearly there fault. Regardless of the dash cam footage, they would have a difficult time defending that one, with the dashcam footage it's a slam dunk.
RE replacement car, your going to have to suck up the new tax bracket regardless. I'd rather have the car written off than have that kind of damage repaired tbh. move on and get car shopping, you'll find something you'll love!
