Paid $3135 for the Platinum Warranty (100K/72 mths). Have had the following failures occur:
51,840: Left front tie rod assembly replaced
59,861: Oil filter housing gasket leak.
Leak from upper vent line hose from radiator reservoir.
66,290: engine oil pan leak
Have come pretty close to recouping the premium cost with 68,000 miles on the vehicle. Water pumps are known to fail around 80K. You can do the math.
I'm supremely careful with my vehicle and a fanatic about regular/timely maintenance.
