With the xdrive all 4 wheels are supposed to be within 1% of the same diameter of the rest. But I doubt if you go 1.1% different your transfer case will explode. If you calculate that difference of your donut though it is probably significant.
Can you drive at low speeds for a small distance .. maybe, idk.
There are reports out there of people even getting a new tire shaved down so it matches the other 3 worn ones.
I'm with you though, it really sucks they don't design for a full size spare in the well... [not to turn this into another run flat hate thread, but seriously, stupid]
