Unfortunately my model can't be fitted with rock guards at all. Looks like your 440i will though.

Look at the diagram you can see the difference:

Those are two totally different diagrams. Also, you’re looking at model year 2017, so it’s not going to show you rock guards at all.

Apples to apples: 330xi sedan vs. 440xi GC. You’ll see that they’re both the same.

A couple of notes:
  • If the car has the M Sport package, automatic transmission, and in the case of the 4 series, M Sport brakes, it’ll have an additional small radiator at the front of the stack. (All 4-series GC are automatic, so you don’t see that constraint on its parts diagram.) In this case, there’s only one rock guard panel instead of two. The small radiator takes the place of the bottom rock guard.
  • The rock guard can only be fitted if the updated radiator mounts are used. This is part 3 in the diagrams.
I don’t doubt that the dealer wasn’t able to make any of this work on your car, despite involving Germany. But these cars are rolling out of the factory today with rock guards installed, and at some point, it really just becomes a question of how many other parts need to be updated to make things fit.

cfm56d7b, how did you fare?
