Do you have any idea where the bitmasks are defined and stored?
They are obviously not hard-coded perhaps in some metadata but I'm not sure where that would be as I'm still not that familiar with esys & their datastructures.
..the bitmask check is on a save check/validation of the FDL. If we can get around the bitmask check or ID where the bitmask is kept in the metadata then this can be perhaps tackled?
