^^ To go with what was stated above, I got my 70d around the time the T6* was announced. I looked at "do I wait and did I make a bad choice"
1) I needed a camera then and there, so in the end moot issue since I couldn't wait
2) no real upgrades to make the wait worth it. Not sure if the T6 series is weather resistance, but for what I plan on shooting, and the type of shooting, I liked the faster shutter speed, using the larger camera batteries (the E6 battery that all my friends have/swap/share/borrow/etc)
And ditto to the lens (24-105L) recommendation. That has been my most used and all-around lens. Check canonpricewatch.com and their street-price program. I got my new, from an authorized dealer/warranty/receipt, etc, for 610 shipped. Granted, I'm just getting back into photography, but I haven't regretted any of the setup I have currently.
