The internals however get updated. By using the same case, you can send in your old detector every few years and have it upgraded to the current version for a fraction of the price. I've had my V1 for 19-years and I still can't determine which frequency from the beeps and braps
I know the V1 is the best (Stinger?). But cheap plastic models are a bit more interior friendly for me.
