I have a gloss black front lip, if it is not painted with a durable paint + clear coat on top it will fade over time. Tire shine is applied after every wash so that the plastic does not look faded and lose its wet gloss look. This is a technique a lot of people use for faded or chipped gloss black abs.

Otherwise just have it vinyl wrapped. My side skirt extensions are abs plastic wrapped in gloss black for the top side of it and those I will just apply a light coat of wax when the whole car is washed. It protects the vinyl from dirt sticking as easily...I don't get much debris or chips on splitters (running a less aggressive wheel offset will help with this.
