My e46 which I still own today is lucky to only have a "dry" paint surface on the roof. Again, maybe they've up'ed their quality, but BMW paint from the 90's and 00's truly sucks.

I have XPEL film on my front bumper, hood, fenders, totally worth it to me.
I drive hwy miles in my daily commute - the rocks that chipped the front bumper and hood on my old black e46 made it look like car had been sandblasted by the time I sold it with over 130K mi.
