I went to Vegas over Christmas, after a 20 year absence. It used to be a good place to go for an inexpensive vacation. Not anymore. Now it's more expensive than New York City. For the best vacation at a reasonable cost, and as safe as it gets, go to Montreal or Quebec City. After the pandemic, that is.

I am willing to bet you haven't driven through Europe, 'cause you wouldn't have said something so blatantly wrong.
I am not saying the US is not interesting, because it certainly is, and well worth visiting. But on so many levels, Europe is far more diverse.
