I would find a specific forum for those and see what years have the least issues. Normally, care, mileage and condition say more than age, but certainly newer cars will go a bit longer before plastic and rubber parts start to degrade given similar conditions.
Ms don't usually get LCI work, although I'm not sure on the E92 M3, so I would be looking into the mechanical fixes/improvements and when they were implemented.
I would look for a single owner low mileage car that has been garage kept, the newer the better. That was my criteria in 2014 when I bought my 2005 M3 that had 58k on it at the time. I was comfortable in the 4 to 6k miles per year. Didn't want the car to be sitting unused for long stretches either. And I didn't want it to be a daily driver and see year round weather.
