It's part of the Stop/Start function.
IIRC, it's actually READY and OFF
READY means the engine has shutdown as at a traffic light but is
ready to re-start automatically when you take your foot off the brake (or depress the clutch).
OFF means really off, you need to press the START button to start the engine.
