2016 340i msport

Hello all,

I just recently upgraded to the 2016 340i msport from a 2013 328i. I absolutely love the car but I would like an explanation on something, apologies if this is in the wrong section, also if this is a super noob question.

I'm wondering why easing on the throttle "feels" faster then just hammering it. I assume it has something to do with boost threshold, but I'd like a more formal explanation. For example, if I'm in 2nd gear and I ease onto the throttle and climb the RPMs slower, the car gives more of a pull feeling. Where as if I'm in 2nd and just hammer the throttle, it just doesn't feel the same. Sorry for the super noob question, I'm genuinely curious as to why this is.

Thanks,
S
