There is a reason why BMW are not offering a contribution, on such a low mileage vehicle. I suspect there is something in the vehicle's history. For issues in the engine, gearbox and transfer case, BMW can ask questions and interrogate the vehicle.
I agree! In my (admittedly limited) experience BMW are very fair when it comes to making goodwill gestures. If it had been serviced outside of the BMW network I could perhaps understand their attitude but on the face of it this seems a very harsh decision for a car with a full BMW service history....
