You can view the BimmerTech blog I posted earlier in the thread, it's a good overview.
I can't comment more than generalities since I haven't seen either in person. OEM is twice as much, but will be essentially the same as if you'd had it from the manufacturer. It requires Nav and PDC though. BimmerTech rates it as a 5/5 for quality.
Retrofit is half as much, overrides the screen, and doesn't require Nav or PDC. BimmerTech rates the quality as a 4/5, but other members have said good things about the quality. It comes with the added bonus of being able to hook up a front camera or use the SmartView mirroring device.
