That said, that's not the way to go.

My child was bullied as well. I went to the authorities and asked them to handle it the first 2 times. The third time I told my daughter to break his nose if he laid his hands on her again and I'll deal with the repercussions. My wife, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and a few others were aghast. My family was uniformly asking why I took so long to give that advice.

He decided to attempt to hit her within a week of the last occurrence and she hit him exactly where I taught her but without breaking his nose (too bad). He stopped bullying her afterwards and the principal called me for a bit of a chat.

Great outcome in my book!!
