DDE is the Digital Diesel Electronics computer that the tune is flashed to on your vehicle.

When you go in for your first tune they pull all the files from your DDE.

In the future, if you want to do their S2 flash, they can take one of their DDEs, clone your DDE to it (from the files they pulled on your first visit), and mail you that DDE to use. When you get it, you'll take your DDE out, put the one they mailed you in, and send your DDE to them for the S2 flash. When they return your DDE with the S2 flash you send them back their DDE. A $500 deposit is required when they do this.

I haven't gotten a tune from AAR, but read about this on their site (or Facebook, don't remember exactly which one).
