I found the oil suction almost completely plugged with plastic bits and sludge!
On the good side the oil pump chain appears fine and timing chain is not broken.
It remains to be seen if the chain skipped due to plastic parts running between the sprockets and chain. If that happened, then the exhaust valves would almost certainly be all bent. Maybe intakes would be fine due to valvetronic only opening them a small amount? Pulling the valve cover off tonight.
Some nightmarish jigsaw puzzle..
