I double checked and you're right. Ohlins are not available for the F30 Xdrive. Only for RWD.
clearing the axle boot is really the main challenge. And would attempting to make them fit compromise ride at that point which would defeat the purpose of putting them in to begin with? Fat Cat billy's may be a better option in that case.
