I coded snowghost's car using the no-write-FA procedure and it worked fine, but that's only one sample.
One note, if you skip step #5 (using the modified FA for coding by clicking Yes) or you re-read the FA from the car, then VO coding won't change anything.

in my F30 the High Beam Assistant only do ON/OFF, and is europe version.

i didnt Edit the FA (in this case, remove 5AP and 8S4, because in my case it wasnt there)
i just code this:
HIGH_BEAM_ASSISTANT changed to activ(was not activ)
C_HBA_GRHB_ENA: changed werte from 00 to 01
C_HBA_ADAPT_SHUT_ENA: changed werte from 00 to 01
C_HBA_ENA_V_LO werte=18
C_HBA_ENA_V_HI werte=28
and still didnt work,then i just code this new ones:
FEM_BODY / 3073 / C_AFS_ENA should now be Fxxenable (was Fxxdisable)
FEM_BODY / 3073 / C_HBA_ENA should now be Fxxenable (was Fxxdisable)
FLA / 3000 / Lucid_Image_Height should now be Lucid (7A) (was Non-Lucid).
FLA / 3000 / Lucid_HL_Height should now be Lucid (40) (was Non-Lucid)
FLA / 3001 / DFL_Vehicle should now be Verbaut (was NichtVerbaut)
and now work
