I'd keep hold of the cat in case you have issues passing MOT.
Some of the sports cats fail if they are not upto a high temp before emissions test.
Also, if you need to remove the remap and flash back to stock there is a good chance of a engine management light if you have a sports cat fitted without the spacer.
