A full set of locking bolts is about £50 iirc and that comes with a key for them. I suspect you got lucky that the dealer had a spare sat around, otherwise they'd charge you for the set.
If you take care the locking bolts are quite resilient, the main thing is not to let an impact driver anywhere near them - almost certainly what has happened.
The problem these days is everyone is in too much of a rush to take care with these sort of things.
