Teaston means the toggle control scroll wheel (with a very small stick on it). The bit you nudge to go from 50mph to 52mph and if you push it up a lot it jumps 5mph at a time.
Never had a problem on mine M235i/m4/335D, if knackered needs a new switch or wheel....
