I have included pictures below that may help. The first is the B58 (6 cylinder engine) cam cover from post #1. You will notice that the oil cap #17 is about inline with cylinder #4 (counting front to rear).

The second picture I took of the B38 engine (3 cylinder engine) with the injection removal tool mounted. The brass nuts w/knurled silver nuts is located above a fuel injector for pulling the injector during service.
The oil filler cap is about inline with #1 cylinder (front cylinder). You can see that both of the "B" style modular engines have about the same distance from oil fill to timing chain. You can see the far rear hump where the chain is located on the B38 photo.
Thanks for the info. Just curious, does issue with timing chain cause CEL and other fault codes?
