While it doesn't matter a lot since AWE stopped selling the mid pipe as a standalone item, I wanted to show some pictures of a 440i F36 exhaust next to what the AWE midpipe is. Plan is to put the AWE midpipe on my F31 330i with the 440i muffler with a stock downpipe.
While the pictures appear that the AWE midpipe is a smaller diameter, it's due to the oval shape of the factory F3x exhaust pipes. The AWE is 3" mandrel bent, so should flow just fine. AWE claims ~13hp gain, but I doubt that.
AWE part number is 3015-11036 and I had to check a bunch of online retailers to find a new one in stock. They're still out there, but I suspect demand was very low, hence the discontinuation. You can still buy the entire AWE kit which would include the pictured midpipe.
