Looks like with the GM, FCA, and other diesel fuel pump class actions in the news this fall, BMW thought it would be a good customer retention strategy to make it clear that they're at least extending the coverage. My wife's Mercedes, and my 328d, both have the Bosch 0445010553 or CP4.1 pump that can self destruct with ultra low sulfer diesel, especially if water gets into the fuel. She has yet to be told anything by Mercedes.

We're both using DieselKleen which has an extra lubricant for the fuel pump, so maybe that will save us $10-15k each.
