After reading THIS THREAD I was willing to pay the $400 just to get the audible chirp when locking, regardless of the actual alarm features- over the years, I have become accustomed to hearing some sort of beep/chirp to confirm that I locked the car (every car I've ever owned). It would have made me crazy not to have it on the new car. It's a not an issue now that I switched my order to a 335i since the alarm is a standard feature.
