(I haven't listed specs for other car mfrs like Audi, MB, Porsche, Renault, VW)
5W-40 BMW spec LL-01
5W-40 BMW spec LL-04
0W-40 BMW spec LL-01
5W-30 BMW spec LL-04

They haven't bothered with 0W-20 because there is no market as long as BMW is offering free oil under warranty.
I agree, Mobil is indeed playing catch up. So far as Amsoil is concerned, I’ve been contemplating using their SS 5w-40 for my next OCI, but based on the verbiage on their website, it doesn’t look they have official approvals either. They state only that their oil is “ engineered to be used in vehicles that require the following specifications.”

API SN, SM…
ACEA A3/B3, A3/B4
BMW LL-01
GM LL-B-025
Renault 0700, 0710
Manufacturer Approvals*: MB-Approval 229.5; Porsche A40; VW 502.00, 505.00

It looks like the only official approvals they have are for Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, and VW. That said, I’m sure their oil does indeed meet the other specs, it’s too easy to test and sue or false advertising these days, and I’m sure no oil manufacturer worth their salt would take that risk.
