I was surprised too. I bought the car new, so unless BMW fitted it as standard to the GC, or as part of the towing pack, it shouldn't have Adaptive. The car is almost vanilla, with 6WB and towing pack as the only options.
I've never driven a car with Adaptive so I can't compare.
Some day I'll have a look at the shocks to find out!
