The 5W-30 flavor of this oil (Valvoline European Vehicle Full Synthetic XL-III) is on BMW's list of approved oils.

That said, if it's officially approved as VW 507.00 spec, then that should be good enough. It's a low-SAPS/low-ash spec for VW TDIs. There are few N47's on this forum using a that spec of oil. In fact, the HTHS specs for both LL-04 and 507.00 are the same at 3.5 cP minimum.
