I have the 4gc with 19" wheels and have the drive mode in sport/sport+ quite often (adaptive suspension). I drive around Boston where many roads are riddled with potholes, cracks, and rough patches from being dug up, patched, and dug up again etc. Even then I just can't see what the big deal is with ride comfort. Sure it can get a little bumpy, but it's still perfectly comfortable. It's not as if my head is hitting the ceiling, or I'm cringing when going over a bump. I guess I just don't see the f30/32 in any configuration, with any factory suspension set up, as being uncomfortably stiff.
If you do find it hard to deal with though, I'd say get a nice comfy 5 series or x5. The x5 loaner I had was so smooth and quiet on any road it was almost disconcerting in a way. It felt like I was in a hover craft of some sort. It should certainly fit the bill for anyone wanting a soft, classic luxury car ride though.
