I agree with you but we live in very strange times
I bought my 340i last year for around $34k just before prices started climbing. Its a 2018 CPO one owner with 16k miles and fully loaded except the adaptive Cruise control. I don't think I can get a similar car for less than $37k today.
Also as others have suggested, what other factory options does this car have? Does it have the MPPSK? upgraded wheels? upgraded brakes? maybe an LSD? All of these things add up.
