1500rpm is a pretty modest/soft launch. The magazines that test drive X-Drives and get those great numbers-they do much harder launch. I think the torque converter maxes out lockup at 3100rpms.
Even a 6mt RWD car gets launched at higher than 1500rpms. The point of Xdrive being FASTER in 0-60 is by taking advantage of the traction at launch. If you do not, your times will be slower than a RWD car. With your low RPM launch and hot/humid weather, your car would have done more like a 14.4+ with out the tune. So it helped. But to get full benefit and get 13's, you are going to need a more aggressive launch.
But hey, at least you made it out to the strip. Most talk about their mods and how fast the car is and never dare to make a single pass.
