There's no set time or distance to get monitors ready. You just need to go through all the various modes. EVAP is typically the last/most difficult one to get ready. Following some of the drive cycle procedures helps so you know what to do. You need both hot and cold starts, extended idle, letting the car sit while warm (especially for EVAP), then city driving, highway driving, etc. You can use MHD to check if the monitors are ready.
