You can also try launching in 2nd.
Or, do what i do with RWD, and don't use launch control. Basically just do your own launch. Left foot on the brake with moderate pressure, floor it with right foot and let off the brake about 0.5-1sec later. You dont want to actually hold the car back with the brake like with launch control, you just want to prevent the car from moving while you "stall" the converter and get the rpm up slightly. Stock turbo will make boost at 1500 rpm, which is about where you get using this method. If you have good tires you should only spin a little on the street with FBO + tune.
