Maybe, but XL tires are able to handle higher load weights because they can be inflated to higher pressure. Sometimes they're used for cars that track, because of that higher pressure capability. But higher pressure results in a harsher ride. If you don't inflate them to higher than normal pressure the ride won't suffer, but they won't handle extra load either. I can't see needing them on a GT. If you're going to a tire for other reasons and it happens to be XL that's OK, but I wouldn't buy a specific tire only because it's XL.
