I went for BOSCH , bad idea ?
I can't speak to Bosch, I've only ever used Mann. Others here can provide more input, as my experience is limited. My F30 is the only only BMW I've ever had and I've had it less than 3 years. I can tell you I replace my oil every 5,000 with the Mann filter kit and the oil that comes out is very clean.

FWIW- I buy the Castrol oil at Walmart and the filters on Amazon which makes the maintenance pretty inexpensive. The F30 is by far the easiest oil change of any car I've ever owned, which was a present surprise.

Lastly, for anyone doing their first oil change (like the OP), don't forget to pickup a 16 flute oil filter wrench for BMW's. Below is a link to the brand I have (although mine is an older style)…

There's actually a great inexpensive oil filter wrench in most auto parts stores but most people miss it because it's labeled for Volvo and not BMW. It's 86mm/16 flutes. Only maybe $4. See photo.
