I don’t really consider myself to be risk-averse, and have made what I have today from risk-taking, but there is something particular about building projects. Perhaps it’s watching too many episodes of Grand Designs, or perhaps it’s just the stage of life, being a decade older than you, where a major overspend could be trickier to recover.
